about
On August 21, 2020, Intro in Situ will release a composition written in lockdown: Quara Morning, composed and performed by nine composers from various genres.
The base of Quara Morning consists of a field recording made by Angela de Weijer on a morning in the first weeks of the quarantine. After Angela, Chantal Acda, Orkun Agir, Julian Edwardes, Daniel van Loenen (Oliver Verse), Reggy van Bakel, Aart Strootman, Patrick Housen and Evelien van den Broek successively worked on this special composition separately from each other. Supervision of the process, coordination and intermediate mixes were made by Tom Swart; the (re)mix was made by Rutger Muller and the artwork by Hendrik Simons.
Intro in Situ stands for the creation and development of music. Immediately after the lockdown came into effect, all kinds of initiatives arose for performers in music, but not so much for composers.
In order to stay ahead of the silence, to support composers in these times, but above all to enjoy the pleasure of making music together without being together, Intro in Situ commissioned nine composers to make a 'viral composition'. The result is Quara Morning: an exciting ten-minute piece and a unique collaboration between these composers.
Quara Morning is the first release of our brand new label intro in situ records.
